Minister Micheal Payne serves as our Lead Minister. He has been a member of Harvey Church of Christ since birth. As a young man, he faced many obstacles leading down the wrong path. It was during this time he distanced himself from his church home. However, with the help of God and loved ones he was determined to change his life for the better especially when he became a father to his son, Malachi. Minister Michael began to seek God for himself and started attending Lansing Church of Christ.

As he began to grow in God his life started changing and heading in a positive direction. He became more passionate about God and started spreading the gospel of Christ to everyone he knew through calls, messages, and more. Minister Micheal felt the call of ministry upon his life and reconnected with his church home, Harvey Church of Christ. After returning to the church in 2016 he rededicated his life to Christ and continued to grow more in God.

In 2017 he answered the call of ministry upon his life and was appointed as Assistant Minister at Harvey Church of Christ. Minister Micheal was driven to impact the lives of people through the word of God and by fellowshipping with them. During this time he also started the “Gym Ministry” also known as “Soldier Hood” for the youth. This ministry allows the youth to maintain spiritual, mental, and physical wellness. Over the years Minister Micheal has been used as a vessel by God to preach the Gospel to the youth and adults.

In May 2022, he was appointed as the Lead Minister at Harvey Church of Christ. As a leader, he has a heart for God, a heart for people, is focused, dedicated to the will of God, and helps usher people into salvation. Today you can find him at Harvey Church of Christ still answering the call of God and spreading the good news!

Minister John Young is our Assistant Minister. He was born and raised at Harvey Church of Christ. Although he had a foundation in God through his upbringing and family dynamic. He still had to develop his own personal relationship with God and accept Christ.

During his journey from childhood to a young man, he continued going to church and accepted Christ. As Minister John began cultivating his relationship with God he recognized he had a calling on his life. Later he was asked to teach the Bible Hour Ministry, which was an honor since his father had taught it prior.

As a bible teacher to young children his relationship with God deepened like never before. God used Minister John for over a decade in the Bible Hour Ministry. He was intentional about making Bible Hour a fun atmosphere that would allow the children to fellowship, build friendships, and cultivate a foundation of faith. Minister John established and supported his ideas by studying God’s word.

His passion for God and dedication to teaching others to walk with Christ led him to provide Bible classes for adults. In 2017 he was appointed as the Youth Minister. It was in this role Minister John began to experience more traditional preaching and teaching. In 2022 Minister John became the Assistant Minister at Harvey Church of Christ. He aims to be “God’s Man” a worker that is not ashamed. Today you can find him with his wife Melinda and their children preaching and teaching the gospel at Harvey Church of Christ.
